Sole network engineer for the Masonic Homes of California, responsible for maintaining the networks in Union City and Covina and also providing support for approximately 150 employees and residents of the home in Union City. Deployed auditing and antivirust software using ScriptLogic and have been given the task of replacing aging servers and ensuring data and applications are transferred and continue to work reliably. Point-of-contact for firewall and SAN issues (WatchGuard FireBox & EMC Clariion 400.) Projects included establishing a VPN tunnel with Grand Lodge in San Francisco and establishing global address list between Grand Lodge and the Homes utilizing IIFP. Responsible for maintenance and support of servers and desktops running Win2K, Win2K3 & Win XP. Supported software includes SQL Server, BackupExec, Kronos, and a variety of home-grown database products.

After being laid off by my previous employer, I started my own business acquiring, as my first client, my former employer (see below.) I have also set up the networks for two start-ups, in one case installing and configuring Windows Server 2003 and in the other Small Business Server 2003, both using Windows XP clients. I have a number of regular customers using Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 with a mixture of Windows 2000 & Windows XP clients. Almost all my administration work is done using remote tools such as Terminal Services and VNC. Most clients and customers have VPN access set up and everyone has antivirus protection from Symantec (most have an anti-virus server.) All customers and clients use Active Directory.

Sole computer support for approx. 35 employee ManRep firm. Served as the network administrator, mail administrator, connectivity expert (including maintaining the FTP site,) PC technician and employee trainer for this company, also maintained the Merlin Legend phone system and Audix voicemail system. Single-handedly designed, configured and installed the networks in the Irvine, Woodland Hills and Beaverton, OR offices and became very adept at remote administration and telephone support, supporting those offices until they were spun off as separate companies in 1/00. Skills include configuration and maintenance of Win 9x, NT Server and Workstation ver. 3.51 and 4.0 and Windows 2000 Professional and Server, Windows 2003 Server and Small Business Server, Windows XP, Exchange Server 5.5, 2000 & 2003, IIS 3.0 and 5.0, ISA Server, Veritas Backup Exec 6.0 thru 9.0, WinGate 1.3 thru 6.0, RightFAX 4.5 thru 8.5, GFI Mail Essentials 9.0, Microsoft Office 4.3 thru 2003 and have used MS-Access since ver. 1.0. Knowledgeable in most aspects of network connectivity, including NetBEUI and TCP/IP protocols and MacIntosh to Microsoft connectivity.
